Welcome! I am Tom Oxby

I am Tom Oxby, and the photo shows me doing one of my favorite activities, checking out a hiking trail, in this case located in Point Pelee National Park. Very typical, as I have been cycling, hiking, canoeing, and taking road trips all my life.

My parents lived in a small Ontario town and took my brother, sisters, and me camping every summer all over Eastern Canada. Even in High School, I belonged to a club that built canoes and sold them to finance our canoe, hiking, and climbing trips.

I became a travel agent assisting people with their plans. A lifelong journey, today I belong to a Toronto Outdoor Recreation Club, which hikes, cycles, canoes, skis, and snowshoes, often involving a road trip and sometimes a flight across Canada.

Where I’ve Travelled in Canada

On my own and with my club from my Toronto base, I visit different parts of Canada every year. With relatives living in Calgary, I am always heading west as well, although I have not been to Saskatchewan yet.

Newfoundland – East Coast Trail, St. John’s, Bonavista, Gros Morne, St. Anthony, Road Trip across Newfoundland

Nova Scotia – Cape Breton

New Brunswick – Kouchibouguac National Park, Hopewell Rocks

Prince Edward Island – Charlottetown, Summerside, Green Gables Heritage Site, Greenwich Dunes, PEI Road Trip Itinerary and many PEI walking trails

Quebec – Gatineau area, Montreal, Laurentians, Eastern Townships, Quebec City, Tadoussac, Gaspe

Ontario – Ottawa, Kingston, Prince Edward County, Toronto, Rouge Park, Niagara, Point Pelee, Grand Bend, Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bay, Manitoulin Island
Ontario Provincial Parks – Algonquin, Mono Cliffs, Ranney Gorge, Lake Superior, Killbear with posts, but have been to many more

Manitoba – Winnipeg and Flin Flon in the north
Alberta – Calgary, Drumheller, Edmonton, Canmore, Banff, Jasper, and the Icefields Parkway in the Rockies
