First time visiting Ontario?
Most people will visit Toronto and/or Ottawa. If staying in Toronto, a visit to nearby Niagara Falls is a must, and the city itself has numerous attractions. I am always surprised, when visiting Algonquin Provincial Park, by how many people I meet from Europe and Asia who love this wilderness area.
If on a road trip from the Quebec border, take either Highway 2, which is more interesting than the multilane 401. Along Highway 2, you get to learn more about the history of the province at places such as Upper Canada Village, the Brock Tunnel, and Fort Henry in Kingston. Another popular route, a little to the north, is the Trans-Canada Highway, which is very scenic and has many sites along the way.
If camping during a road trip, go to the Parks Canada website or Parks Ontario, but be warned, many of the parks will fill up quickly.
