Travel Adventures in Canada Resources

Welcome to my personally curated collection of travel resources, born from years of exploring Canada’s breathtaking landscapes from coast to coast to coast. After countless road trips winding through mountain passes, multi-day canoe expeditions on pristine lakes, challenging hikes through ancient forests, and bicycle tours across diverse terrains, I’ve discovered which resources truly deliver.

Here’s what sets this guide apart: Every single recommendation has been personally tested during my adventures across nine provinces (Saskatchewan, you’re officially on my bucket list!). From gear that’s weathered Maritime storms to booking platforms that secured last-minute accommodations in remote locations, these are the resources that have never let me down.

Why trust these recommendations? Because I’m incredibly selective. I only recommend suppliers and products that I would—and do—use for my own adventures. Whether you’re planning an epic cross-country road trip, seeking the perfect hiking boots for the Rockies, or looking for authentic local tours that showcase Canada’s hidden gems, you’ll find tried-and-true options here.

This isn’t just another generic travel resource list. It’s your insider guide to the tools, services, and gear that will help transform your Canadian adventure from good to absolutely unforgettable. Ready to start planning? Let’s explore the resources that will make your journey extraordinary.

Flight Choices

Booking your flights to Canada and across the country.
Skyscanner – one of the largest flight search engines in the world, used for the best airfares when booking Canadian airlines such as Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter, or other international airlines to fly to Canada.
WayAway – It’s innovative search finds the best option for specific travel dates by comparing airfares offered by all major US, Canadian, and global airlines and agencies. An alternative to Skyscanner
Expedia – plan your Canadian journey with a wide variety of flights. Expedia also assists with accommodation and rental vehicles.

Where to Stay

Booking.com – perhaps the most popular accommodation reservation site in the world, listing hotels, motels, cottages, and B&Bs across Canada.
Expedia – a well-known worldwide site for both flights and accommodation

Hostelworld – a booking platform for hostel accommodation across Canada. Some locations close to National or Provincial Parks, such as the Wolf Den near Algonquin, where I often stay.

Local Tours

Viator – local sightseeing tours, day cruises, and other experiences to make a more memorable trip. In some Canadian destinations, some attractions may sell out so having your ticket in advance is helpful.
Get Your Guide – helps you find the best things to do in various destinations, similar to Viator but with different options. I use both companies.
Tiqets – mobile tickets to attractions
Ticketmaster – official marketplace for many sporting events and concerts worldwide.
Free Tours – free walking tours are available in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Charlottetown, Montreal, and Quebec City
