I spent 3 weeks exploring Newfoundland, and the trip should have been longer. There was hiking along the East Coast Trail, staying in St. John’s, and walking up Signal Hill. Then I drove on the Bonavista Peninsula to walk the famous Skerwink Trail and view the puffins and more whales, as I had seen some earlier.
I continued to Gros Morne National Park for the cruise on the fjord and the hiking. More driving as I went up the Viking Trail to St. Anthony and the nearby Viking Settlement and Iceberg Alle,y with more whales to view. Read more and start planning your trip below!

First Time Visitors to Newfoundland
Everybody loves Newfoundland and the people. Head to St. John’s, which you can use as a base for whale watching, visiting Signal Hill for a history lesson, the quaint fishing villages in the area, and the pubs downtown.
The other area first-timers head to is Gros Morne National Park with its numerous hiking trails, waterfalls, and a cruise through the fjord. If on a road trip, you can connect these two destinations by visiting Bonavista, Twillingate, and Terra Nova National Park, although it takes a lot of driving.
