Many visitors fly or take Via Rail to Quebec City. However, I live within easy driving distance, and finding Old Quebec City Hotels with parking in the charming and walled Old City can be difficult.

The Old City of Quebec is very small, so car access is limited. Only a few hotels have parking on their property, while most provide a valet service to nearby lots or private garages. For others, there is no parking, so you need to park in the large self-park lots. There is no free parking in the Old City. So rates listed below are subject to change.

Insider Tip: In Old Québec, once you park, you usually won’t need your car again. The historic district is extremely walkable, so you can simply use the valet service and explore on foot for your entire stay.

I will sort out the Old Quebec City Hotels with Parking options for you.

      Place D’Youville Parking Garage

If you are staying at other hotels, these are the garages to consider:

      1. Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) Garage

Underground and very central in Upper Town makes it one of the most popular garages for visitors exploring the walled city. Located at 2 rue des Jardins, it costs about 20-$30 per 24 hours.

      2. Place D’Youville Parking Garage

This garage offers easier access when driving into the city and is especially good for hotels near Rue Saint-Jean. It is a 5-minute walk to the Old Québec gates and costs about $20-$30 per day. This is the parking garage I used.

      3. Bécours Parking Garage

Located in Lower Town near Petit-Champlain, a 5 to 7 minute walk to the Château Frontenac, and costs about $20-$30 per day. This location is good if you are staying or exploring the Old Port area.

        4. Bassin Louise Parking

This often has the lowest-cost parking near Old Québec, a 10 to 12 minute walk away. Costs about $18 per day and has the cheapest multi-day option. It features a large outdoor lot and easy highway access.

        Final Thoughts

Driving in Old Quebec City can be a challenge, so it’s best to know where you can park when you arrive, what to expect, and the approximate price, as they vary so much.

Although many offer in-and-out privileges, you will find that most of what you want to see will be walkable, so you can leave your car parked except for the drive to Montgarmacy Falls and Île d’Orléans.
